Promoters of the Kinross Speedpark (Kinross, Michigan) and Sands Speedway (Marquette, Michigan) are proud and excited to announce the creation of an Upper Peninsula Racing Alliance.
Through the new partnership both facilities will benefit from the cross promotion and support both on and off the track.
“This is an exciting time for racing in the U.P. We are excited to show our support to Sands Speedway and to find an equally enthusiastic and hard-working group of people who feel we can have a strong influence in helping racing for the betterment of both the racers and fans” stated Kinross Speedpark PR Director / Track Announcer Gerry Liscumb Jr.
Beginning in the 2015 season both tracks will additionally hold a U.P. Challenge where racers from both facilities are expected to make the travel across M-28 to support the other respective facility.
“We at Sands Speedway are very excited to be a part of the growing excitement at the Kinross Speedpark. Each track’s uniqueness offers a lot to both drivers and spectators. I know this partnership is just the beginning of many more great things to come” said Kim Letourneau, track promoter of Sands.
Kinross Speedpark will hold it’s event, the "Founding Father 75" on Sunday, June 21, 2015 (TT 1:30 p.m. / Racing 3 p.m.) featuring Late Models, ABC Modifieds, ABC Stock Cars and Four Cylinder cars.
Raindate will be Sunday, June 28, 2015.
This will be a SPECIAL EVENT honouring DENNIS AHO and his contributions to our facility and sport over the past 20 years!
Sands Speedway will hold it’s own special event on Saturday, July 11, 2015.
Featuring it’s regular divisions of Late Models, Super Stocks, Mod 4’s and Stock 4’s they will be joined by the one-and-only appearance of the summer of the open wheel Modifieds.
Time trials at 3:30, and racing to follow at 5 p.m..
Raindate will be Saturday, July 25, 2015.
