Speedpark kicks-off 2nd Annual “Triple Crown” THIS SUNDAY

KINROSS, MI-

Three races. Three tracks. One Champion.

That is the slogan leading into the 2nd Annual running of the Northern Michigan Triple Crown that kicks off this Sunday afternoon (June 24) at the Kinross Speedpark.

The afternoon of local short track racing is set to feature the cars and stars of the 1/4 mile, while competitors from both the Norway Speedway (Norway MI) and Sands Speedway (Marquette MI) will make the trek east and join in on the action.

This unique event is the start of a three-race challenge series between the three tracks that will later shift to their facilities the following weekend.

Divisions competing at Kinross on Sunday include Modifieds, ABC Stock Cars, Four Cylinders and Norway Sportsmen.

Time trials at 1 PM with racing action at 3 PM.

Heading into action MARK LAAKSO (Echo Bay ON) holds a 2-point advantage over LEILA UHLMAN (Sault Ste. Marie ON) for the Modified Division points lead.

Uhlman is coming off her first-career Modified Feature win back on June 9th.

Along with a feature win two weeks ago, GRANT HOWARD (Petoskey MI) holds a five point advantage in the ABC Stock Cars A-Division over both BRANDON CARSON (Petoskey MI) and KEENAN SPURWAY (Sault Ste. Marie ON).

LOOKING AHEAD FOR HOSPICE

Just under three week’s away, the Kinross Speedpark will be hosting a SPECIAL Saturday show to benefit hospice facilities on both sides of the St. Mary’s River.

Saturday, July 7 the Inaugural “Baby Shoe” event will be in support of the Hospice of the EUP along with ARCH Hospice.

This event is a Modified Division special expected to draw cars across the Midwest United States and Canada, as the feature winner will be Locked-In to the 5th Annual Hot Shoe 100 later this summer at Whittemore Speedway.

The Hot Shoe is a $10.024 event to win - thus the Baby Shoe is sure to be a big draw for competitors in that division.
