“Founding Father” Full Show up next at Kinross

The speed and excitement of local short track racing returns to the Kinross Speedpark this weekend.

Sunday, August 14th the 1/4 mile facility hosts it’s fourth event of the 2016 season; the “Founding Father” full show featuring Precision Forestry Modifieds, ABC Stock Cars and Four Cylinders.

The ABC B-Division will also host double features, making up their weather-shortened race from last event.

Meanwhile, once again our drivers will be not only competing for regular purse money, but also prizes of nearly $100,000 thanks to Contingency Connection Racer Rewards and nearly 100 National Performance Manufacturers.

Time trials begin at 1:30 p.m. with racing action set for 3 p.m.

Off the track, the youngest fans (12 & Under) will be able to take part in a “Nickel Toss” at intermission.

Heading into Night #4, it’s an intense battle for the top spot of the Precision Forestry Modified Division.

Defending track champion Tim Aho (#27, Sault Ste. Marie MI) and Jay Palumbo (#90, Goualis ON) sit tied for the points lead while Buddy Gray IV (#24JR, Petoskey MI) trails the duo by a mere point.

The ABC Stock Car A-Division sees Keenan Spurway (#0, Sault Ste. Marie ON) hold a seven point lead over Tony Rankin (#68, Cedarville MI) while Jason Praysner (#5, Sault Ste. Marie ON) rounds out the top three.

Larry Young Sr. (#25, Sault Ste. Marie MI) continues to look to follow up on his 2015 track championship, but is being followed by 10-points by Buddy Palahnuk (#26, Goulais ON).

John Lowery II (#2, Elmira MI) sits comfortably in third place.

While in the Four Cylinder Division, consistency has helped Jon Diodati (#52, Sault Ste. Marie ON) to the top spot, followed by 4-points by 2016 feature winner Dean Eggart (#88, Kinross MI).

Rookie competitor Kyle Clement (Sault Ste. Marie, MI) holds on to the third place position.

Main grandstand admission prices are $11 USD/CDN for Adults, $7 USD/CDN for Seniors and Students while Kids 11 & Under are always free.
