“Bark at the Speedpark” at Kinross This Sunday!

The 2016 bi-weekly stock car racing schedule continues to make stride this weekend at the Kinross Speedpark.

This Sunday, July 24th marks Night #3 of the season powered by Fox Boyz Racing and has been dubbed the “Bark at the Speedpark”.

Along with a full show of racing action in the Precision Forestry Modifieds, ABC Stock Cars and Four Cylinders, the facility will also raise awareness for the Chippewa County Animal Shelter.

Time trials are set for 1:30 p.m. with racing action at 3 p.m.

Donation bins will be set-up at both the pit and grandstand admission gate in support of the Animal Shelter. Items in need include soft dog treats, rawhides, soft dog & cat food, clay cat litter, gently used leashes and collars, bleach, dish soap and laundry soap.

Those donating items will SAVE $1 off main grandstand admission (one discount per person).

Heading into on-track action Buddy Gray IV (#24, Petoskey MI) has paced himself into the Precision Forestry Modified Division points lead along with a dash, heat and feature win in the process.

The second generation driver holds a slim three-point advantage over Soo, Ontario’s Cody MacLean (#43), and four point spread over defending track champion Tim Aho (#27, Sault Ste. Marie, MI) and Jay Palumbo (#90, Goualis ON).

Eighteen different drivers have made their way to Kinross thus far in 2016 in the very stout and talented field.

Speaking of numbers, the ABC Stock Car Division has bolstered twenty-four competitors each of the first two nights of the season.

Thus far Jason Praysner (#5, Sault Ste. Marie, ON) holds top spot in the A-Division with a 3 point lead over fellow Sooite Keenan Spurway (#0). Both drivers have found their way to Victory Lane on three occasions.

The final podium position is held by Kinross native and longtime Speedpark competitor Tony Rankin (#68)

Larry Young Sr. (#25, Sault Ste. Marie, MI) holds the largest margin of victory at the Speedpark, with a 7 point lead in the B-Division. The defending track champion is followed by division rookie Buddy Palahnuk (#26, Goualis ON) along with John Lowery II (#2, Elmira, MI).

While in the Four Cylinder Division, two-time fast qualifier Dean Eggart (#88, Kinross MI) brings a 4-point lead into the third week of action over Jon Diodati (#52, Sault Ste. Marie, ON).

Second generation driver, and 2016 rookie, Jack Wieman (#8, Harbor Springs MI) sits in third with 54 points.

Main grandstand admission prices are just $11 U.S./CDN for Adults, $7 U.S./CDN for Seniors and Students while Kids 11 & Under are FREE.

To get to Kinross take Exit 378 off the I-75 and follow the signs to the Chippewa County Fairgrounds.
