Speedpark back in action THIS SUNDAY (July 10)


With the Independence Day and Canada Day long weekend in the rearview mirror, the Kinross Speedpark is full throttle ahead and into it’s next event this Sunday, July 10th, 2016.

It will mark their 2nd of seven scheduled points events of the season.

This Sunday feature’s the tracks “Wheels and Wishes” Full Show of Precision Forestry Modifieds, ABC Stock Cars and Four Cylinders.

The little race fans will also be given to hit the track in their power wheels vehicles at intermission, so mom and dad are encouraged to load them up and bring them trackside as well.

The afternoon’s 50/50 draw will be in support of the Hospice of the EUP.

Time trials are set for 1:30 p.m. with racing action to follow at 3 p.m.

Heading into Sunday CODY MACLEAN (#43, Sault Ste. Marie, ON) holds a two point advantage over defending track champion TIM AHO (#27, Sault Ste. Marie, MI) and BJ MARCOUX (#43M, Havilland Shores, ON) in the Precision Forestry Modified Division.

Following up on a twelve car field on opening night, the stakes are expected to rise as at least four new competitors have made their intentions known to make their 2016 debut in the division this Sunday.

Sault Ste. Marie, ON veteran JASON PRAYSNER (#5) paces the ABC Stock Car A-Division with 40 points, three more than fellow Canadian competitor KEENAN SPURWAY (#0) and five ahead of Kinross local, TONY RANKIN (#68).

Defending ABC Stock Car B-Division track champion LARRY YOUNG SR. (#25, Sault Ste. Marie, MI) comes off a feature win on Week #1 and has a four point advantage over BUDDY PALAHNUK (#26, Goulais, ON), while Elmira, MI pilot JOHN LOWERY II (#2) sits seven points back.

Rounding out the divisions, DEAN EGGART (#88, Kinross MI) takes an eight point advantage into the afternoon over JON DIODATI (#52, Sault Ste. Marie, ON) in the Four Cylinder Division. MICHAEL CARBONE JR. (#4, Sault Ste. Marie, ON) rounds out the top 3 podium position.

Main grandstand admission is $11 for Adults, $7 for Students & Seniors while Kids 11 & Under are admitted FREE.

For this week’s (July 10) show, Men & Women of uniform (Police, Fire, EMT, Corrections) past, and present, ADMITTED FREE when presenting ID of service.

To get to the track take exit 378 off I-75 to the Chippewa County Fairgrounds.
